What is a designer hybrid dog?

Hybrid Dog Pictures
A designer hybrid dog is a cross of two pure bred dog breeds. Hybrid dogs are not purebred dogs, a purebred dog has been bred over many generations from dogs of the same breed. A purebred dog will look the same and have the same termperment as other dogs of that breed.
The media has began calling hybrid dogs ‘designer’dogs. Due to the fact that many celebrities now have hybrid dogs. Designer hybrid dogs are just like all other dogs but they shouldn’t be confused with a mutts. Mutts usually are mixed breed dogs. The owner may or may not be aware of which breeds are in their dog. They could have a general idea but may not be positive of exactly which breeds are in their dog.
The American Canine Hybrid Club recongnizes many different hybrid dogs. Hybrids are not technically a breed. Hybrid dogs can and should be registered with the American Canine Hybrid Club. If you purchase your dog or new puppy from a breeder they should provide you with a Breeders Certificate.
Before purchasing or adopting one of these dog breeds or any dog breeds one should consider if they have the room and time to add a new member to the family. All dogs require a lot of work and a lot of attention. Please be sure that you have the capacity to care for a dog before buying or a dopting a dog.
If you have a hybrid dog please do not be shy, send us a picture. We would love to feature your pets on our website.

Brooke Collins is a hair dresser by night and might just be a superhero by night. When she is not wielding scissors and combs she probably dresses up as a masked vigilante patrolling the street. Why do I say this about Brooke? Because Brooke is probably one of the most fearless ladies I have read about recently. She defeated a black bear with one swift punch in the face to save her sweet dachshund.

I had some fun with this one. Basically it's a video of a bunch of stuffed pug's. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to spot the REAL pug. It is basically the Where's Waldo of Pugs. Can you do it? Look very carefully because one of these pugs doesn't belong.

This is a story that just warms my heart and in fact, made me cry today. Navy Seal Jon Tumilson died on August 6, 2011 in Afghanistan in a helicopter crash. His black Labrador Retriever was at his memorial and laid down in front of his coffin with a sigh, obviously mourning for his dad.

There is no doubt that the internet is obsessed with cute animals. What would you say if I told you that you could play with cute little kittens right from the comfort of your living room even without having a cat yourself? Sounds like a pretty sweet idea right? The people over at The Human Society of Clinton seem to think so.

We all love our dogs and sometimes we want them to be around 24/7. But that is no excuse to masquerade your dog as a service animal if they are not.
Those with real medical problems are subject to regular discrimination when they go out in public with their service dogs. Just recently there was a story about a woman who went into a McDonalds with her 2 autistic children and a service dog. She was hit in the face by an off-duty McDonalds manager. Behavior like this is unacceptable and only fuels the fire and makes it harder for the disabled with certified service dogs. Read more…
